The First Step

My word for the year is change. The first step I took this year to make changes in my life is I started reading "Simple Abundance A Daybook of Comfort and Joy"

It is a book of daily essays that help a person find perspective in ones life and transform oneself. I found I have become less materialistic. I now have a daily gratitude journal which has shown me just how blessed I am. Pleasure is found in the simple tasks of daily living.

Today I have found I am grateful for...
1. My family
2. My morning cup of coffee
3. The sun shining
4. Good by kiss from my husband just before ventured off to work
5. Salad club at work (provides me with a healthy lunch)

Today I want to challenge everyone to find five things in your day that you are grateful for.

Change

CHANGE

This is my word of the year...Yes, it's change. The way I see it change is good. I am going to change things about myself and my life.

At first I thought of making a New Years Resolution list. It would include..Trying new things, taking better care of my body, showing my loved ones just how much I love them (making more time for them), Pay off my debt, Use up my art supplies and many more. Than, I thought....all of these things can be done with CHANGE...

The first thing on my list is to get organized. This is a big change for me. I look organized but the OCD in my says I am not. Each week I am going to tackle a room. By the end of January I should know what is hidden in every  nook and cranny in my home. This is a change. Maybe you can join me. We can CHANGE together.

I was cleaning my room the other day and I came across a lost treasure.

Many years ago I had a victorian holiday tree. For a gift my aunt made me this ornament.

She also made this beautiful lace trim to adorn my tree. I have since gone country. These were still in the original box I rec'd them in. I called her and asked her permission to use them in my art. She has given her blessing. Now I need to figure out what I am going to do with them. Any ideas?

Travelogue

A while back I did a travelogue swap and met a group of wonderful women whom I think we are on the road to becoming life long friends.

I included a spot for a photo and some journaling

A secret place to write some personal information about myself

Obviously the information is not too secret...

Now my friends whom participated know this information and a lot more...I just wanted to say I am thankful that you have come into my life ladies and this is a look back at how it all started..

The first two tags to arrive were Kathy's . Can't you  just hear the wolf howling at the moon.

Christine made the tag on the left. It is amazing...Check out the embellishments  The one on the right is mine. The witch image was taken from the Halloween 2 CD  found at Blissfull Elements.
